Unmanned Systems Conducts ScanEagle Flight
Operations from Mobile Control Station for Its Mobile Control
Station for the First Time
For the first time, VT Group Unmanned Systems has conducted
flight operations using the Scan Eagle from our mobile control
station. The team was awarded a project to provide flight
test support for the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division
(NAWC-WD) at the Boardman Test Range. Under this task,
Unmanned Systems helped integrate the payload, conduct ground
testing and complete seven hours of test flights over three days.
The team had to contend with adverse weather and made several
key decisions to mitigate risk.
A special congratulations to the test team, led by Brian Prange
and assisted by Ryan Meyer and Sean Whitney. We are proud of
Prange's stellar performance in the preparation, planning and
execution of this event, performed under the approving eye of our
primary customer, InSitu, on their range. This
is just one example of the professionalism runs throughout
our small staff in Portland, who make our operations possible.
